Yesterday I got to work and realised i didn't have enough change for all day parking. So I decided to risk it and left the car all day without paying.

When i came out at 6pm i noticed that someone had placed an all day parking voucher under one of my wipers, and wrote on the back "There was an inspector so I put this on your car. I used to have a Mini just like yours."

Needless to say, I was stoked. If the person responsible is reading this it was greatly appreciated and thanks.

thats bloody awesome, what a champion. only a mini deserves that treatment. people really can be nice, but it would never make the news headlines would it.

good to hear there are still good people out there! one who put the permit on your car, and the countless people that walked by without taking it!

excellent and wouldnt it be nice if it happened more often.

Its good to hear that someone else is thinking. Stop those mongrels from getting all of our money!!

Mini's should only have to pay half as much anyway........ 8)

only if you fit 2 to a space  but then they'd probably fine you for not following regulations (eg parking inside the lines, as if that ever happns anyway!!!)

There are still nice people in the world! I did the same once for a Mini whose meter had expired, was worth it so that the parking inspector got less commission.

If I'm leaving a carpark and my ticket still has some decent time left on it I will usually give it to someone who has just come in, these days people get quite surprised. No, really, there isn't a catch I'm just being nice (make the best of it, it won't last!)

Yes I do the same, and usually get the same reaction!

i recently went to a beer tasting, it was $20 for 20 samples, i went with my girlfriend but between the two of us we got through 33 of them (2 tickets...) so we decided to leave, i saw someone just walking in (by this time they weren't selling any more tikets) and gave our remaining samples to her. but, she couldnt understand me, she was french, and i was drunk. i couldnt remember how to say what i wanted to say in french, but i think i got the message across. i remembered the next day how to say it...

her and her boyfriend seemed pretty happy though! a few free beers! who could complain about that?

I did that once. Saw some dude who had just been given a ticket. I gave him my ticket so he could take it to the council and tell 'em to get knotted as he "had a ticket". Wonder how it went. Prolly gave him a fine for not displaying it correctly.

similar ting happened to me...well not that similar. paid to get into a car-park, got a ticket from the person at the gate. bought a ticket, didnt know i was uspposed to DISPLAY it, as i had bought it from an operator. wrote a nice lettter to the melbourne council and included a copy of both sides of the ticket, and they cancelled the fine. even though it was only $40
