Cutting up good mini's is my job.

When the RAWS scheme is finally finished for mini's it will be a different story

Surely there's a difference between a good condition Rover cut and a limited edition?!

Can you explain RAW's in a few sentences. I dont really want to read volumes of legalese, I just a quick comment of what you meant with your "when RAWS is finished"

Old scheme... low volume compliance, a few workshops had this(some backyarders)
New Scheme...RAWS.
must have a RAWS workshop first $100000 minimum
this is to keep the backyarder/dodgey dealers out of it
once you have this you can bring your first car in.
$50000 in testing, emmisions etc... then crash test the car to test your intrusion bars.
NO ONE in Australia has finished the compliance for the Mini, we have the car about to be crashed.
So when the compliance fees go up to 8-10000 this is for all the fees, testing etc needed to get these cars in the country.

Thanks for the update Steve....I'm sure this won't be a surprise to you but the gummint is ripping people off here....all in the name of safety too (I'll wager!).

Just like the speed cameras....not revenue raising...safety
