Fellow mini family,

A friend of mine had the love of his life stolen from the vacinity of Concord, Sydney, by three low life thieves on Thursday 18/1/7.

The car was a white 69 genuine ex-nsw Police Morris Cooper S Mk 2. It was fitted with a half cage and a racing seat. This is a three owner car, and had a racing history in NSW during the 1970's. The car has been owned by one family since it was acquired at auction from the NSW Police.

As you may imagine, the owner is regular mini guy, and is gutted.

A substancial reward, no questions asked, will be paid to any person supplying information leading to the recovery of the car.

The car has Mini light mags and NSW rego BHQ873. It has many unique and easily identified parts, including a Graham Russell 1310 engine.

This is a timely reminder to all mini lovers to watch their pride and joy, some things cannot be replaced.

Phone 0414972787 mob anytime. All information will be treated as confidential.

Thanks for the support Graham,

My friend is still too shattered to post this message. The mint Cooper S was locked in a basement garage of a new security unit block, with full video camera's, two electric gates, and a bike in-front of the mini. They really wanted it, as we saw on the video.

Regards,

Wayne.

Hi,

I will keep an eye seriously for you as I feel they really deserve their time behind bars.

Do you have a picture of the car?

I think they should be living around the area.

Ben A.

I can't imagine how gutted your friend must feel. I can think of a lot of descriptions for these lowlife scumbags, but I'd get kicked off the forum if I wrote them. Just maybe there's a glimmer of hope that it will be returned to him - we can only keep fingers crossed for him.
And this at a time when I'm so excited about buying one, also 69 S (not trying to be funny, but no connection - I can assure you that the car I'm looking at is all above board!) - leaves a sort of empty type feeling that's hard to describe, but not as empty as his I'm sure..

I wish him condolences and good luck.

On behalf of Steve, the owner, thanks for the support.
I dont have access to an appropriate public server, however you are welcome to e-mail me direct on [email protected] and I will send you images.
The mini is a genuine Mk2, fitted with a Mk1 bonnet badge. (Steve still has the oval badge: the only part of the car left.) The bonnet is the only non-original panel and paint: the first one was copped a hit whilst being raced (by Ross WITTIG!) in the 70's.
As for shots of the crooks, the Police are making enquiries with those.
Thankyou once again.

Wayne

Will be keeping a keen eye out for this car..... Ok so you nick a genuine S, what do you do with it? Be a bit risky to sell it as a whole car, break it and sll it for parts? Or put it in a container and ship it overseas? I hope not...

The thing is what kind of people would go to the effort and risk of stealing a mini?? A bloody enthusiest thats who. Most people think minis are worthless. When they ask how much are they worth and you tell them they say no bloody way!!

Hope it wasnt anyone on here.

Mike
