When I get around to doing mine (big cap side fill) it'll have a Mr Bean style padlock. I'll braze a lug onto the cap, then get it chromed. 8)

Mine just had a hasp riveted to the cap and the matching staple on the body. Some of the early landrovers had the same size cap and there was a special locking thing that fitted onto them, it was basically a hasp and staple.

I've heard some trucks use the same cap, but I'm yet to find one that fits. :(

The reason the cap is so big is that it was a military specification, its so you can pour petrol out of a jerry can more easily. Military spec landrovers and Mokes have the same size and they look identical from the outside, but the landy ones attach differently on the underside so don't fit. There are probably other British military spec vehicles that use the same cap as the Moke.

timbo, was thinkin staple and hasp as well. would like somethin a little neater. it would be great to find a truck cap that fits. want to get cap lockable before moke is registered hopefully next week. sorted clutch and in the middle of sorting the brakes. also need to build a speaker box to sit behind the seats and a door on the dash to hide head unit. :D
