How much do you go through?

I put oil in every 2-3 days, about 200-300ml, so thats 100 ml a day  . This is through general leaking and also thorugh the mini eating it.
It this too much?
Lets see some figures.

My mate had a Morris 1100 from new, it used to use a pint (~600ml) in 400 miles- BMC told him that was normal!

I find the old A series varies a lot. Some use oil, others don't.
Our recond 1098 Clubbie used to do 3000 miles between changes without topping up (before we took it off the road). I guess the rings and bores are working fine!
My 1310 motor gets thru about 1L in 1500 miles but it's now done 45,000 miles and I do thrash it `a bit' 8)

Yeah I go through a fair bit. Probably put in about the same as that.

Mine leaks like a sieve & burns its fair share as well.

I'm hoping the new donk will be leak free. Putting plenty of breathers on it: side cover, timing cover, clutch housing. Since its going to be remote change I won't have to do that bastard of a seal where the selector goes into the rod change box.

Minie would be flat out using a Pint of OIL between a 3000km oil change.

Yeah mine goes through about 1 litre of oil every month or so. I can't tell you how many miles that is cause the gauge stopped working at 79,999 miles

Everytime I go to drive it , I just check the oil
