for the clubby i just bought it has 10 inch jelly bean mags (4.5" wide) im shopping for tyres and want to know what size tyre - tempe has 165 - 70-10 in stock and other places also have 145-80-10. what size should i go?? |

I have Kumho 145/80R10 on my jellies. Moved them over from 4x10 steelies and they look much better. The extra 1/2" of rim on the Jelly mags spreads out the tyre wall nicely and they feel firmer on the road with less tyre wall flex round the twisty bits. But I'll be fitting 165/70R10's when the time comes - still feel a little more contact area would be better. |

i swear by my 165/70r10s. not long back put some yokohamas on, which were about $100 per tyre. |

If it has flares go 165's you may need a spacer on there to stop them rubbing though. If no flares i think (not sure of the offset)the jellies will be outside with 165's, 145's will fit under no worries. I bought 145 falkens from Jax and they were 72 a trye. i think falken 165's were 78 a tyre. Cheers Aaron |

Chris, I've got a set of 4 brand new Bridgestone SF 226, 165/70-10 here, never been on a car. I was keeping them for the 850.. 
Yours for $60 each if you want them.

Most tyre places can get Yokie A008's for around the $100 ea mark...... I think its what most of us run on daily drivers / weekend track specials....... Cheers J |

Yokies are good but don't seem to like the wet Some of us have found the opposite- I used many sets of Falken 165/70-10 FK07Es, found they were useless in the wet (on my 1310) unless new, but now my Yokies are 1/2 worn and still good in the wet.

Yokies are good but don't seem to like the wet For sure! Just got my new minilites today, fitted with Falkens front, Yokie A008 rear (waiting for the rear falkens to come in) And it grips like a mofo. None of this kumho rubbish... get the good crap. |

im with u doc. my mate had falkens on his mini and it slipped and slid under speed around corners. these yokies havent slipped yet, and i've taken a few corners pretty fast. yokis > all others.
