Always loved minis. Great website with lots of info & tongue in cheek humour. :D
Just bought a 67 round nose & have some questions. I live in West Pennant Hills,Sydney. Is there someone nearby I could talk to, ask some questions?
Is it 67 model? YMA2S41258
I found out 2S4 is minimatic but it has a manual fitted.
Is it rod or wand change? How can I tell?
Eng no is M86814P, is it a 998?
Seal kits for brake MC & WC where can I get them from? Repco or a brake place?
Thanks Craig

If you have to lift the gear knob to select reverse, its a rod change box, if the gearlever comes out of the base of the firewall, it's a magic wand shift.

Go and see Greig at Mini Classic Hope st Ermington, he can tell you anything you need to know & can help out with parts & repairs.

Doogie

PS Enjoy your mini.

Hay, it's not about the car, it's not about the venue, it's about the people that come here. Peter Dwyer, Mayor of Hay NSW.

Eng no is M86814P, is it a 998? looks like a Police number, not that uncommon....have you looked for the aluminium tag at the back of the block/right hand side???

put up some pictures of the engine and we can probably tell you more

Welcome :D

Congratulations on the car.

looks familiar!! grubby :D

get that electric fuel pump put under the rear subframe, must be bloody noisy sitting up there, mount the coil the other way up so it has less chance of getting wet and reroute that wire to the temperature gauge sender so it doesn't get snagged on the fan belt

the motor isn't a 1275, so it's either an 848, 997, 998 or 1098, can't tell which one without measuring the stroke :D
