Fitted a genuine boot seal today. Even went to the expense of buying the clips to hold the seal ($1.10 ea x 26),

What do I get for my effort? A boot that won't close.

I remember discussion on here about this, and the advice was to push hard, close the boot and leave it for a few days.....

It took probably 30 minutes to close it, and because I had to push so hard.....I DENTED THE BOOTLID....IN 2 SPOTS!!!!!

NOT HAPPY!!!!!!!

No Will.....I was pushing so hard that my hands made indents in the boot lid. One either side of the handle.

I can't believe it!!....... .....I wanna cry!

Being a darkish red colour, they stand out. GAFMO saw them and reckons it is nothing, but I want to show this car....has to be perfect.

Try a rover mini boot seal, fits on the body,
no effort to fit and the boot shuts after

Still fits oz minis fine, worth a look.

Yep, get the rover seal. Seen it on many aus Mini's. Still will be tight, but not THAT TIGHT.

Or... you could wait 25 years and it will be fine, cause my boot shuts fine!

bugger - that really suxs. i feel so bad for you,
but we are all extra critical of our own cars
so it may not be that bad - considering how
straight the rest of the car is, it may go unnoticed
while everyone is drooling over the rest of your
car - esp your interior

no the rest of the car looking straight will only magnify the dents in the boot, it will stand out like dogs balls, the car is now usless, think you better bring the car around here and ill give you a case of beer for it :)
