$20k is pretty steep in my opinion especially as the reserve isnt met. But as you said, it is worth what you are willing to pay, and it is a rare car! Matt |

well, For those that do want a traveller, I have one and once i have it restored(4-6 weeks) it'll probably be for sale. PM me for details. not 20K, but it'll be worth that once done.

Wow, you learn something new... Quote: When the travellers were imported to Australia, the Australian government would'nt let them be imported with the wood because of quarantine laws in 1960's  What a load of bollocks! There were a few wooden Travellers as well as Morris Minor Travellers, then there was all the wooden boxes that BMC used to import the parts in during the 1960's.
Crates and boxes from England. Tea chests from India. Lots of wood was imported.

I was waiting for this car to pop up on the forum. The seller is full of crap! 7 to 9 Travellers in the country? There are lot more than that here! Most sought after Mini in the world? Now, to me a Woody Traveller is the ulitimate Mini, but to most of the world a Mk1 S is the ultimate. $20K is optimistic for that car IMHO. Different if it was a very original or Concourse standard. But if he gets that for it, good luck to him. I'm sure mine will owe me at least $20K when finished (if I ever finish it!). |

Appart from the wood importing crap, the seller isn't lying, he/she's just being vague (for lack of a better word). According to which British mini mags? So far I know of two, but I don't think they'd be able to say the 'world', maybe most sought after in Britain, they never asked me which I like best. So you can buy the kit from the UK, but can you get it sent here for $1500? Ther'd be big postage on an item like that, but he/she covers him/herself by saying don't quote me on that, fair enough. "I'm under the understanding". Well, don't need to explain that one. I know of 3 in Adelaide (including this one). And have heard of another one rusty away in the countryside. |

its not completely original/period or in concourse condition, its missing the wood, its a smallblock with drums. the rad shroud is a different colour also looks like its missing its id plate? i'd stay well clear of this, you can pick up a mk1 cooper S for 20k easy. |

Traveller and Countryman were available with or without wood. This car started life without, just like mine. BTW: Last time I checked the wood kit was about $3000 with a couple hundred extra for the "fitting kit" of fasteners. |
