Ok, I dropped around to Monkey's house (not My monkey, he doesnt own a Van yet!) Its a real pretty "Dauville" Blue (Or maybe Ford Cosmic Blue... its metallic, anyway) Looks to be a late '68 "Wet" van - since converted to dry and missing its compliance plates....1100 Engine, "S" DIscs, booster, heater all the "nice" bits...... Anyway, rust was minimal, nothing too scary (under the crossmember is a different story though........ I'd like to hear your opinions about this, i reckon its a go-er, he needs to spend some time fixing that crossmember. repairing the floors and patching the driver's door (as well as welding up that freaking big hole in the floor where the PO thought a 12" SUB would look good) Do you think its worth money / time for him ? Heres some pics ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() J |

I've seen a lot worse mate Looks like it's do-able. It all depends on how much considering the costs of the missing bits. How much he want for it? You could always just get a Rover front cut and drop in the mechanicals - one nice Van. |

Sorry - my bad. Still - I agree with you - it's not a bad base to start with. Bottom line would be to start treating the tin worm while attempting to source the mechanicals. If the project doesn't get up then at least the shell will be worth more. There is a growing demand for the vans these days, good ones are rare as rocking horse do-do. |

Commercial Mini's never had the luxury stuff. Hell, they only had one sun visor! Not loving that hacked crossmember. ![]() |
