has anyone here got or seen a set of these wheels on a car as i wouldn't mind a set of 205's on mine if there wasn't alot of body mods required and the wheels look good imo 8) ebay item no.140017302394 sorry couldn't get link to work :x

There designed for golf buggies, you would have to be out of your mind to put them on a mini, if you do, get your headstone engraved as soon as you put them on your car.

wasn't sure if they were designed FOR golf buggy or if they just happened to fit golf buggies and trailers of course i wouldn't fit golf buggy wheels :roll: thats why i asked if any body knew any more or if anyone had already used them. dont want to get my headstone done just yet granite is too dear at the moment :lol:

i have them, theyre great, i wouldent race on them, tyres are a hard compound, rims are excellent.

best rim i have ever seen for a mini imo.

theres been lots of debate and debacle over them.

tyres are abit noisy.


thats them on my cars, tehyre on my delux atm, but ivelost the cable so no piccys.

Illegal, unroadworthy, uninsured (regardless of wether you have insurance, these MAKE your vehicle uninsured) & STUPID.

I think swapping them to your deluxe was a good move, they look a little small with the big body kit.

When you get 13s (yes you know you want too 8) ) get bigger tyres overall, so that they diametre is bigger than that of the 10s that it had in those pics. In real life they probably work really well, maybe just the angle or whatever of the photo. But as for the actual rims, they are very shiney... 8)

WHY?
Don't the pass Australian standards or something like that? I don't see any reason why they would be Illegal, unroadworthy or uninsurable :?

I think it isn't so much that they don't pass , it's that they haven't been passed and there have been questions asked about the speed and load ratings of the tyres . For wheeels to be legal for the road the company or importer has to spend a lot of money getting them tested to show they pass all the relevant standards . From what has been said previously these wheels haven't been approved as such . If there was an accidentwhere the wheels or tyres were even considerred to be at fault for any reason it would most likely be enough to have the car considered unroadworthy and the insurance would then have grounds to refuse payment . It's up to the owner as to whether they want to take the risk however , not the company that sells the wheels unless they say they are approved when they are not .

There is also the little detail of not being able to extend the width and/or diameter of the standard wheels by more than a certain amount and also not being able to extend the track by a certain amount than the car had from the factory without needing re-engineering . Since the widest mini's had in Australia was 4.5" , I think you can only go to 5 or 5.5" legally without an engineers certificate . Several years ago the NRMA wouldn't insure a mini with anything wider than 5" wheels , whether that's still current I don't know .

But it is a very good idea to tell the world on teh interweb that you are going to run these wheels, it also helps if you post your rego numbers (showing a number of other defects as well) so that the insurance company and the police can identify the car. 8)

I wonder if the insurance companies and police would look at the ausmini.com stickers and search the forum for posts? 8)

I bloody hope not :oops: But realy what car on the roads older that 10 years or so, if gone over with a fine toothed comb would'nt be defective in one was or another?

It's all a matter of how fine tooth a comb you want them to use , if they have a hard time finding something then you can argue it in court but if you have 4 shiny silver beacons saying "defect me" then you can't argue it much unless you want to pay for the testing .

All that being said though I like the look of them and it reminds me of how race mini's looked in the early 80's with 10 X 7's on them , I wouldn't use them on the road but they'd look great on a show car .

if taht was aimed at me, i really dont care. its a show car, it doesnt get driven on the road, it gets put on a trailer and pulled to shows.

agreed, its a shame other people on this forum have issues regarding these wheels.

these people "bagging" these wheels, dont own them , have never driven on them, and never read the information written inside the wheels regarding the roadworthyness :roll:

and before someone goes and has a hissy fit about the wheels im running on my car, no im not pulling them off so you can read the relevant numbers.
