Having not delved into tin master cylinders in many years, what is the difference in the internal makeup of a clutch master cylinder to a brake unit? I seem to remember one had a small one way valve in it to leave some residual pressure in the brake lines? Am I right or is my mind starting to go to mush. |

probably starting to go to mush, but it's still right - there is a valve in the brake one, but it's not necessary (according to Doc ![]() |

Cool, I remember seeing that valve, but couldn't find them in mine either. So it just retards the return a tiny amount? And bleeding is a very good reason too. |

Is there a difference between MCs for disc braked cars vs. drums, aside from the reservoir size? I seem to remember reading somewhere about the one-way valve in the drum MC needing to be removed when converting to discs, otherwise the caliper pistons don't retract. |

I've seen that on other drum conversions where there is a valve to keep a residual pressure in the lines for non-self generating drums. But as for minis, I dunno.. |
