You will never see an Aussie Clubbie with sliders.

Differnt door latch and striker. They will NEVER fit.

The door catch/strike plate is totally different, if you are realy keen you proably could graft some sliding window rails on th the clubby door :? lot of work and proably not woeth the effort but it would look cool 8)

ah, ok, so is there a difference between mini K and clubman doors? i was under the impression that ALL australian doors were interchangable, there a bit rare here.
and i cant be bothered with the 1/4 windows

Jed , our shells remained the basic dimensions of the Mk1 mini (windows , door openings etc) but the finer details were different , the door jamb area of the B pillar is slightly different shape in a post 71 mini (since I keep being told I can't call them clubmans :P to morris 1100) and the door jamb itself is completely different .

The last however many (numbers are vague) of the mini K's had the clubman doors with clubman B pillars/burstproof locks , prior to that they had the normal windup windowed roundie doors and matching B pillars . Aussie windup roundie and sliding window doors are interchangable though slightly different but not clubman to roundie (other than late K) .... Hope that helps .

The door frame on the sliding window doors is thicker (I think) to accomodate the two windows.

Other than that it would be relatively easy to put a channel in the clubman door to put sliders in.

the other reason was i was hoping to offset the cost of the car by selling the doors  aussie doors are fairly rare here, especialy rust free ones, much harder to get than 850 doors :?

How much for some good 850 doors there?
I had two people wanting $200each for good ones :(

i paid $10 for a pair of average ones  but im not sure of the price of good ones, i just have 3 sets and 2 cars...
aussie doors would be $200 - $250 each i would imagine in the condition these are in.

I've been considering finiding myself a damged front 850, with sliding windows, and welding a Clubman front on to fit a 4EFTE easier. Now that would be cool. Keep it all MK1 south of the firewall, 8)

It'll never happen, but It's always a future project idea, along with a hundred others......

In 1971, what did they call the doors with lift up handles ? 8)

Portals to enter the vehicle ?

Are you referring to burstproof latches or something else ?

They called them 'Clubmans', and they were made by 'Morris'.

Am I right?
