I had a quick look on the weekend at removing the upright section of the rear seat from my mini. The base came out simply enough (butterfly nuts on the two threaded pins at the front of the base, but I couldnt get my hands or eyes to any securing bolts for the other bit. Before I break my back to get in the boot - is it secured from in there? I am due to take the seat to a trimmer to replace the top section of the vinyl. Its a '65 Morris Mini Deluxe |

Couple or three small bolts through the top rail into the back parcel shelf - access from the boot |

Depending on the model it is usually held by 2 phillips head screws which are screwed vertically thru the parcel shelf from the boot into the seat back/top. Once these are removed you will also find that the top of the seat is "clipped" over a small metal lip on the parcel shelf. This requires you to lift up the top of the seat until it is free of the parcel shelf and then swing the back seat forward to remove the 2 small wire pegs which are in holes into the bottom of the boot behind the bottom of the back seat. Quite easy once you have done it a few times. |
