Sorry to hijack your thread... I to just attempted to install a smiths tacho, I cut out the old one and hooked up the new one and then tried to start it and nothing, I don't think its getting any spark, so i put the old tacho back in exactly how it was and it won't start with that one in either. So I took all the wires off the coil apart from the distributor wires (electronic ignition) and then hooked it up with some jumpers to the appropriate spots and that didn't work either Now i am really stuck, is it possible that the electronic ignition has been fried? I can't think of anything else, I have tried a different coil and checked the leads and plugs and now I have no idea whats wrong :S Any help would be appreciated Cheers |

You could try and make it as simple as possible so it can't be stuffed up. It will prove the dizzy and give you a direction to go in sorting the issue out. What are the wires coming off the dizzy? what are their colours? What kind of electronic dizzy is it (standard with a electronic mod inside, Pulsar dizzy..etc etc..)? Give us that and we can work a bit smarter to sort it out. |
