Was just cleaning the interior of my daily GT 'Bo', and found these goodies....

1 x 'The Whistling Prawn' refresher towel
1 x Peters ice cream cone lid
2 x 2c pieces (1975 and 1980)
1 x Shopping receipt from 1/1981 (total spend $2.04)
1 x Skeleton key
1 x Broken piece of Lego

I am intrigued by the 'Whistling Prawn' refresher towel. A restaurant I assume? Anyone know where it was?

Whistling Prawn shop was at West Pennant Hills too, back in the 70s. We bought the odd fush and chups there. 8)

<edit> it was a fish shop takeaway/cafe. I wouldn't call it a `restaurant'...

My step-brother and i have a game whenever we go out to a pub on any where there is a couch, it's called "Trash or Treasure"

Rules are simple, we both agree to play you can involve as many people as you like, then we at the same time reach backwards into the gaps in the cushions of the couch and feel around until we find something. Then you hold it up for everyone to see wether it is 'trash' or 'treasure', keep going till one finds said treasure or you run out of things to pull out.
good for a laugh when you find a pillbag or chewy funny stuff, once found a $5 note tho, "TREASURE".

Was it a large chain of take-away stores? when did they disappear? I just can't remember them....

That train forum thread was interesting. I remember a lot of the old Aussie icons mentioned there.

For some obscure reason I remember quite well the chain of "Aussie Chopsticks" take-away joints. "Aussie Chopsticks.... Chop Chop"
