after your opinions and other opinions have decided that rather than swapping my hydro bags front to back I will shorten the rear struts (as I have alot of these), and see if that works. Have eliminated possibility of being helper springs, knuckle joints/cups, or nething structural. Question is how much do I remove to get the front to come up about an inch? Note - Front already has two large spacers on it, dont want to add any more as they are very thick. They will stay on the front. Any help appreciated ![]() |

I think you'll find removing material from the rear trumpets will not raise the front of the car. One of two other things will happen: 1. The rear becomes lower and the front stays as it is, or more likely, 2. The front will become even lower. The way to get the front up by modifying the rear end you say? Add spacers. ![]() |

5:1... so remove 5mm to remove 25mm of ride height. but I'll say it again, I don't think it'll work, it'll just make the back lower because you're not equalising the pressure, you're just taking the height out of the rear |

If that is the case, what (in mm) is the max I could put in spacers on the front. At the moment I am near 4mm with two thick spacers, can I go more? |

I wouldn't go more than that, if you go to the point where the amount of knuckle joint shaft engaugment into the trumpet is less than it's diameter it could pop out while driving. Could be messy. I think the solution is: 1. Pump up hydro system, 2. Fit new helper springs, 3. Put some gold in the boot, 4. Invest in Hi-lo's. ![]() |

If i put one more washer in I would still have over the diameter, just I think. That would probably raise the car an inch aswell? |

I have a `70 Matic with Cooper S/Clubby GT bags in front, MiniMatic/Mini-K bags in rear, comp hydro rear bumpstops. With 2 full tanks it sits level, 3 fingers above tyre front and rear. ![]() ![]() |

Bear in mind the knuckle joint shaft has up to a 3 x 45 chamfer too. That doesn't count. |

Filling the tanks adds weight at rear, this helps pull the front up as fluid is displaced forward. What happens when you pump it up- does the front lift, or stay sitting on the bumpstops? |

nose of my cooper definitely comes up when I fill the tanks, likewise put anything heavy in the boot... |

Front comes up as I add fluid. Will try adding one more thin washer. Car is also on a slightly slanted forward driveway which wouldnt help (I think), and fill tanks. Should hopefully level out. Just realised it is a bit deceptive with the big arches on. If I go by the normal arch underneath it is about 2and a half finger at the front, and you can get four in at the back. |

Back is normally a bit higher than the front, when at rest. Hydros do not have the `drag arse' look that some dry cars exhibit... because their owners think it's trendy. ![]() |
