Was it just the bootlid or bootlid and over the bootboard as well ? A thick compressed cardboard or vynil ? I've got the heavy vynil boot mat type thing from a clubby that goes over the back of the bootlid (screwed or press studs , can't remember) and also covers the boot floor , it's to suit a single tank but could be changed for twins ? |

I have a good boot board. Kindly donated by a GT enthusiast. It's the seperate bootlid liner that I need. Not the same as the late Leyland Mini vinyl liner that went from bootlid to boot floor. Don't have a pic handy right now. |

Mini Car Clinic at padstow had the reproductions of them on the shop floor for around the price you are thinking. Yeah, a compressed fibre board with a number of cap screws holding it down. I have a fairly ok, but not really re-usable one here as well like the one below. The repro material isn't quite the same as the originals, but is better than nothing and will probably last longer. |

Try a local motor trimmer. Got my replacement cut out and holes marked (used the old one as a template) for $20 |

Hi GT, The original boot lid liner on Australian MKII S and Clubman GT was a material called Leather Board and was I/8" thick masonite with a leather grain patern in it on one side. This material is no longer available but can be sourced from old wardrobe doors which where made in the late 60s and early 70s. If you really want it to be spot on original you will have to find one of these wardrobes for about $25 and cut it up. I know it is a lot of effort but that is what I did because I wanted it right. Hope this helps, Dave |

You're kidding? That's an awesome bit of mini trivia. I reckon I might have to wander through a few junk shops! I could also use the doorless cupboard to store the as yet unused new mini bits. |

Mick, Go for it, Garage sales, second hand shops, tradingpost, you can eaven pick them up for free when the curb side rubbish collection is on. People must think I am mad looking at old junk cupboards on their piles trying to find the correct patern. You can get enough for 4 boot lids from one wardrobe! Dave |
