Pardon the craaaaap picture, but does this look vaguely like a bush for the bottom of the remote gearstick?

It's so hazy however, that it could also be a peeled potato with a hole in it.

goes on the bottom of the gear stick and should also have a Spring on the other end also

Yes it will help heaps, also check the split nylon ring on top of big gearlever ball isn't worn out.
Or all the other ball linkages... diff housing bushes... etc etc. :wink:
