Can anybody tell me what year the unleaded cylinder heads came in? I thought it was around 1987 for UK model cars and I'm wondering if it was earlier for Japanese models. I was looking at a Jap import recently, didn't check what year model it was but it had a twin circuit master cylinder the same as Australian models and 10" wheels, so I would have guessed pre 1984. Or it has been modified. It was fitted with an unleaded only fuel tank.

Japan was the last place to do away with leaded fuel....
But they would have got unleaded heads when UK cars did.

I think I'd be wanting to check what year model it is then - the mechanic I was talking to about the car said the valves were closing up and he had to reset the tappets twice. It sounds to me like it isn't an unleaded head, but does have the 'Unleaded Only' sticker stuck on it - a recipe for disaster!
