I was seriously looking at costs to get some of these 3 cornered jiggers made locally. However I found out yesterday that Mini Spares UK are ceasing manufacture of the spline drive oil pumps that use them. So, I guess now it's rather pointless and would be a waste of (my) money. ![]() Already, Cooper S oil pumps are NLA. The only 1275 pumps available soon will be the slot drive ones used in A+ motors. It is possible to adapt a pin drive or star drive cam to suit, by TIG welding a slotted adaptor into the back of the camshaft. Easier alternative- get a slot drive cam from Brickworx or Miniimports. ![]() |

what about having the three cornered job made to drive the slot drive pump? The slot be easier/cheaper to make than the splines?? Is it worth getting a revised estimate Kev? |

There's no need to make them 3 cornered Steve, just turn a steel plug up, slot the centre with a milling cutter and TIG weld it into the star drive cam where the lug holes are. Then it can't fall out either, if you manage to pull the cam. That's how GR does it. I might make some like that... ![]() <edit> actually if I get them `3 cornered' laser cut, they could cut the slot too. Might be worth a look.... ![]() |

The spyder drive pumps are still being manufactured. We have 100 avail ex stk and since we deal direct with the manufacturer we are aware of no plans to cease production. ![]() |

Greg, are the spider drive things still available? It's a bit pointless getting these pumps if not. The spiders wear out the splines eventually. BTW my information came from UK, this week. ![]() How's your supply of 1275 slot drive pumps, last week I had to get one from Melbourne... ![]() |

Hi Kevin - have checked all our sources in the UK and no one has them. There are still many engines that just req a replacement pump - we sell 100's a year of these pumps. Re 1275 slot drive pumps - plenty avail ex stk. In the last 10 days we have had a BIG shipment of various engine parts arrive inc oil pumps. We now regularly bring in a 20 foot container a month of new parts to cover the many brands of English vehicles we cater for. +++++++++++++++++ Hi Morris 1100 You certainly go back a long way ! It will be 30 years next March since I / Karcraft started trading. Regards Greg ![]() |

Update- progress. Star is being made to adapt 1100S cam to slot drive Metro pump. CAD design done, next week I'll have the 1st off, laser-cut sample. Note these spiders can also be remachined to adapt a pin drive cam to a slot drive pump, but star would need TIG welding into the cam. ![]() |
