I've read the rules..so I won't say who or why I won't go where I know.

So, who can recommend a place to take my Mini to have brakes overhauled? Preferably inner-northside. I'm even open to the franchise chains providing someone has a good mini experience.

I tried to get a wheel alignment a few months back and after 20 minutes of screwing around they informed me they can't do 10" wheels! I would be nice to talk to someone who knows a mini from a barina!

Put your general whereabouts in your profile, then we can mention a few spots to try.

Whats up with Brisbanites and calling themselves Brisvegas. I've been to Brisbane and I've been to Las Vegas and I can't see the similarities. Yea there are the casinos (dozens and hundreds of multi billion dollar operations in one and a delapidated haven for Taiwanese pensioners in the other), and the weather (hot in both but a dry desert hell hole requiring eveyone to hide in airconditioned caves and gamble during daytime in one and a tropical, coastal resort stuff in the other). But really apart from the lacklustre driving standard and the abundance of unroadworthy vehicles on the roads there isn't much likeness.

Oh and to answer your question just ask your mini mechanic, who they go to. They'd have to use a brakes guy all time (especialy if theyre into racing) and so would have sorted through all the rubbish ones for you by now. I hear the mechanic to go to in Brisbane is Matt Read the miniman (http://www.miniman.com.au/).

Brisvegas is an irony. It once wasn't as cosmopolitan as you god-sent sydneysiders would be used to enjoying. It was more laid back and it still is.

So Brisvegas is a play on a name.

I believe Rockhampton was the originator of the name (Rockvegas) and Brisvegas took it as their own.

Get used to it I suppose, we've had to get used to Sydney claiming to be the world's most liveable city
