she is a 68 deluxe, (everything was disatached and no labels on wires when I got it). Have got everything wired except the wiper motor. Can you tell me what coulor wires I should be looking for and where they attach to? Have four wires that can go to it (only three connections on the wiper motor), and there is places for four connections on the back of the switch? thanks, steve

I've got the colours you need, but it may be a little awkward to describe the wiring pattern. I will assume that you have the later round type wiper motor. You have three wire from the loom, and on my wiper motor there is three connections. You should have three wires, Green, Red/Light Green and Brown/Green. Brown green is on it's own closest to the passenger door (when the motor is mounted in the car), whilst green and Red/Green are side by side inboard of this. Red/Green is closest to the engine. i think you should also need a black wire to connect the body of the wiper motor to the chassis. If your colours differ, chase the wires back to their source with a multimeter.

Mooman10_0, Wiper wiring for the first of the Lucas Australia single speed round motors introduced in 68 is bit of a mystery. The wiring diagram posted is for the original square bodied DR3A? motor. This is the one with the right parking wipers. The Lucas Australia wipers park on the left. The motor is a 12AUW type and comes in single and dual speed versions. It uses regenerative braking to park the wipers. The DR3A type doesn't so the wiring is different. There is no wiring diagram in the manual that I know of that has the correct colours for the late Mini Deluxe and MK1.5 Cooper S. If you use a Mini K wiring diagram the wire connections are correct but I think the colours are different? which makes it a bit awkward to sort things out but it can be done. The wiper switch is different to the original DR3A motor as well. The single and dual speed round motors I think also use different switches to each other but I'm not sure. You may be able to sort it out by trial and error. There is a supply wire direct to the motor from the voltage stabilizer (there is a common input terminal at the stabilizer which also supplies the wiper - the wiper is not supplied from the output side of the stabilizer) so if you can find a common coloured wire at the stabilizer and the motor then that is the main battery supply to the motor. The motor has 12V applied all the time the ignition is on. The other 2 wires go to the switch. I've been looking to upgrade to the 2 speed motor but haven't worked it all out yet. When I get a chance I will check the wire colours and connections but it will not be for a few days. RonR |

Eureka. Found a wiring diagram in the w/shop manual that has the correct wire colours and connections for the Lucas OZ single speed wiper motor used in the late Mini Deluxe and MK1.5 Cooper S. It's on page n-24 of the manual (TP832). It's headed Mini 1100 Saloon and Van (Late Models). The wiring diagram is for cars fitted with alternators and reversing lights but the wiper wiring and colours are correct. Just one slight problem, the wiper switch connections are missing one wire as it only shows 2 wires at the switch instead of 3. The missing wire is the Red/Green wire (No 17) which connects to terminal 4 on the switch. I must have worked it out many years ago and forgottten what I did as I've pencilled in the connection. problem solved, and it only took me 8 fuses to work it out ! Finnaly have my whole car wired up, just waiting on some disk brake flange bolts, evacuate the hydro and pump up, general tidy up and she is DONE!
