Used when the body shells were rotor-dipped.

A blardy big pole went through the guts of the shell, and it was dipped completely in a tank of primer / anti-rust solution. It was also spun 360 degrees on the pole, so the solution covered every surface.

Thanks - I wont touch the cardboard and vinyl cover then. There wasnt some amazing rear boot heater for cool climates. :lol:

From a manufacturing point of view ... its interesting to see how they have two different types of morris cars (1100 and mini) on the "dipping line up" ...

That big car is an Austin 1800 but there is a Morris 1100 in the background. :wink:
Notice the brackets bolted under the sills of the Mini? Someone was asking about the bolt holes in their sills the other day. 8)

oohhhh... nice spot!

re: the rotodip vid. It makes a big difference seeing it in motion :) btw.... I have the 60 odd minute video which includes that clip. :wink:

ahhh, very good! might be skid plates or something for when they sit them on the ground...

I love how fast the bloke spins that mini shell on the spit :lol:

Note that when they moved Mini production to the Enfield plant they then had no Rotodip. :cry: This is one reason late Clubbies are more prone to tinworm than early cars.
Can't beat a rotodip for getting into all the nooks and crannies. :D

Seem to recall my A30's had the same hole in the boot/backseat bulkhead as well.
