hey guys/ girls.

i ahve purchased wheels for mad-mk1, now i just need to get some spacers made,

im going to go, mini studpoatetrn 4x101, then stepped to a different set of bolts at 4x 100.

with probably an 2 inch rise.

the spacer will eb bolted to the hub via teh standard nuts, tehnteh wheel at teh new nuts , offset a little.

can anyone suggest an engineer or a company that has experience, or has done this sorta thing before?

cheers jamie

if its of any help you can buy such spacers/adapters over here with TÜV, maybe this helps you to make them roadlegal down under. some run VW alloy wheels this way. you bolt the adapter with the mini wheelnuts to the hub and than screw the wheel with normal VW or similar screws to the spacer

check out any wheel shop that has a collection of LARGE shiny rims in the window. They will either be able to get them for you - or - try to lecture you on why you shouldn't use them.

Without trying to start another argument on them - yes they are not as strong/safe as bolting the wheel onto the original studs, yes they will change your suspension geometry and put more stress on some components, and yes a lot of cars do have them on and you don't hear of a lot of problems.

We have a set on one of our Minis as they are about the only way to get show wheels on a Mini without spending a fortune to get them custom made, but I wouldn't use them for lots of hard cornering every day.
