I've found if using sports filters (Ramflo etc) on a 998 or 1098 with twin HS2s, M needles generally work well.

If it helps at all I'm running a 1030cc motor with a 998 cooper head and various other good bits and I run M needles in my twin 1 1/4 SU's with no problems at all. Good torque, great revs and decent economy and responsiveness. Hope it helps |

Thanks again. We've got a 998 with (so we are told) mild cam, bore (not sure how much) and reco'ed head. Again its a 12G202 but don't know exactly waht has been done. There's receipts for all the work but they are as descriptive as an old cash register docket. I'll pull the head off one day and have a good look. Anyhow I have replaced the very worn single with a set of twins off a Cooper S. Made a huge difference but the exhaust is very black so I suspect running very rich. As I've got no response to my other thread about Dyno Tuners in the local area. I may have to choose a set of needles to try. All of your help is muchly appreciated. Dicko. |

As the good doc says, The M needles are going to be pretty good. Get yourself a colortune spark plug, and a workshop manal, and preferable a carb balancer, and you'll get the tuning as near perfect as possible, in a very short time Matt |
