Hi all!
finally got penny back from the painters on wed drove her home all the way from liverpool to chatswood no dramas re filled the tank drove her around and now that the tank is half way down when driving up hill the car is spluttering like it's almost out of fuel..
ended up getting to the stage where the fuel pump is ticking ticking away and the cars not getting any fuel even though the tanks half full on an uphill...
I ended up pushing it up a big hill onto a flat and got it sucking fuel momentarily on the flat but as soon as i was on a rise it cut again...

any suggestions? i dunno if the tanks not properly sealed or if the pump is stuffed or what but it's about 10 mins from mini and moke world stuck at the moment and i didn't really want to take it there!!!

Mate, sounds like the problem I had about 2 months ago, you might have got a bad dose of fuel, just drain the tank and put in some fresh stuff and see what happens. Do that first before you start pulling the fuel system apart.

Good luck Gerg

While the tanks empty also have a look to see if there's a filter between the tank and the pump . It may be blocked or only letting a trickle through to keep it running on easy going but not keep up when going uphill .
