Well , not quite , I found this gem while digging through old magazines looking for something for Rehab1964 (not yet Kevan but still looking) . It comes from the "Sydney Morning Herald Good Weekend" Magazine dated February 13 1993 . They did a special called "going wonderground" and dealt with all forms of people using sewers etc .....

It certainly explains why all the drains round here have bars in front of them still far enough for people to get in. They're only stopping cars.
:D

I drove past some road works today on a mini run and saw some pipes yet to be layed and thought "I could drive through those" :P .
My biggest concern would be getting that water all through the car :?

from memeory there are a few good storm water cancals int he inner west around annandale and rozelle. only need to cut a padlock or two and you could drive right down to them and into them.

wish i was there to gie it a hot. they were slippery in some parts but wde enough to do a handbreaky 180 or a 3 point turn to turn around and go back.

(the gate i speak of is at the end of white street in lilyfield. there is a bridge over a little canal and the road goes through a bit of a bush then down a boat ramp to the canal.)

Geez that looks like it would have been fun. I would have to record it if I went to do somthing like that now, I would just keep picturing the Italian Job in my mind and hum along to the music in my head!
