Has anyone had a larger petrol tank made to suit a Mini? ie: Flat or round tank in boot.

I know I could buy a RH tank or a 35ltr tank but they are either expensive or like hens teeth...

Call me crazy, but i remember seeing a picture on here of someone mounting an LPG gas tank on the back wall of the boot (behind the seats).

If THAT was to be done for a petrol tank, you'd be laughing. :D

EDIT: Found it! :D http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=32435

to get one made properly would be prohibitably expensive as the welds have to be burst proof, the left hand ones are readily availiable at fairly reasonable prices, and rh ones are through the roof now in price however they are still cheaper than the ones availiable from pommy land.

I had an early model holden tank in a mini many years ago.
It was flatand fitted inside the subframe.
Not sure if it would fit under the raer seat, as mine was removed.
You would also need to relocate the battery as well.

I had a nice Alloy one in my Sports Sedan. It sat in the bottom of the boot and was fed from the usual filler neck spot.

Wished I'd kept my Sports Sedan, although it was de-seamed and they wouldn't let me run it anymore.

Cheers,

Dicko.
