Yes it would but why not just buy one from a local shop. The van tanks against what you would think are still available and they were a well positioned item that was well ventilated. You will find a good one if you look local.

i already tried mini spares and mini and moke world and both had rusted out tanks... i ended up buying a decent 2nd hand one and got it recod and pressure tested then por15'd it and now im getting chalky white residue running from the tank and clogging up my filter even though i left the POR 15 with a heat gun for 4 days!

It could well be mate, best thing is to flush your tank. Even take it out and wash it out. the lines will clean up in time. but yeah keep a filter in and have a spare filter in the car. Pop over and show us the car. I want to see how it looks now

will do aaron!
alas i took it back to franks for the 3rd time to get the paint fixed up but alas he's left a dry paint spot on the sill and one of the rear doors down the bottom looks like 2 blobs of touch up paint were put on the bottom... not happy!
i think im going to cut my losses with him and try and find someone you guys trust and just get the niggly bits fixed up!
plus someone hit my drivers guard with a shopping trolley so another dent!

interior is still not done! going to steve and mikeys with dave at twilight minis for a full checkup because of it not running so well due to the filter being full of sheit and putting in a new radiator and giving it a set of twins... but still a work in progress + saving for an engagement ring means funds are tight and work means time is short!

Why? I once bought home a fuel tank from the USA as carry on luggage. 8)

If it stinks of petrol, it is a fuel tank.
If it don't stink, it is just a big steel box.

I believe it has some thing to do with it being a container for fuel and on (specialy) a Aircraft it can ignite while in the air
