Post subject:  Austin Countryman Rear Badges... more than two?

Evening. Interesting Discovery the Rear Door on my Austin Countryman now that it is repainted etc has an extra hole directly above the T in the Austin Badge. You can see it in the pic below, I don't have a current one and the door is in the room next to my sleeping son so i can't get one at the moment. It looks Factory as it is a nice clean hole. It is smaller than the Austin Mini Badge holes So... Anyone know what could have been there? I don't want to fill it if it turns out it was supposed to be there for a special order badge or something. Plus, to fill it will mean respraying the door, something i would like to avoid. So Anyone have any clues as to what it is for?

Nothing near there on my Morris Traveller neither.

I'd stick a "GB" badge over it or something. :)

Yup thats it. I dunno, As suggested I will cover it with something until I can track down what if anything is supposed to have been there. If I find it to be nothing I can have it filled and resprayed at a later date without any issues.
But, suggestions on what to do would be welcome. I thought maybe a Sticker with the Countryman coat of arms could be cool as a temp thing.

Is the Countryman staying stock?

If not maybe a repro "DOWNTON" badge or similar period tuning house badge?

She's Stock. Probably as stock as you can find bar incoreect M/C's and hose clamps. Might have to buy some correct ones just to annoy the hose clamp stirrers... oh and it's neg earth, just for ease of use with a removable stereo system i have for it.
I like the Austin wheel Insert idea.
Not sure what the downton badge looks like though. A pic would be handy if you have one.

Downton Image (from Scotts Old Auto Rubber site) would look alright but a little speedwell S would be nice and subtle .

I reckon it would only need to be the size of a 10 or 20 cent peice for it to not look out of place. Good ideas all though

Speedwell sticker trimmed to the circle would look great 8)

I've seen them as small badges too around the size of a 20 c piece .
