G'day guys;

I have a couple of 1275 motors here and one of them has numbers I have not heard of.
It's V79912P. Can anyone enlighten me on what car this is from?

Police number issued in Victoria in 1979

What Wombat said, I've had a few blocks with Police numbers over the years.
2 of these were brand new- when you bought one from BMC it had no number so you went to the local Fuzz with your block and receipt, and they issued you one. You then had to go get it stamped, and take it back so they could check it.

The code is a national one-
V is Vic (N- NSW, Q- Qld, W- WA, S-SA, etc.)
next 2 digits are the year, followed by the allocated number.
Last letter is always P, (for Fuzz). :wink:

I have checked the other engine and is is an 1100s 1275
