Not too hard to do, will require popping the driveshaft out on one side. The last engine I put in my car developed a big leak out of the O-ring seal on the drivers side diff plate due to the seal not being fitted correctly (my bad), so basically I had to do the same job to replace a different seal. Not too hard, but then I don't know your level of mechanical ability, so I don't want to recommend you dismantle your whole car in the driveway with a screwdriver and then not be able to put it back together. Oh and by the way, the seal that has likely had it is the output shaft seal, about $4 worth. |

I've had a few engines that I let fall to 600ml below minimum and then topped up to the minimum mark, burnt less oil that way and still ran fine - wide tolerances ![]() |

It's a reasonably big job beacuse you have to split the balljoints to get the hub out of the way enough to get the driveshaft out but it's a straightforward job and you shouldn't have too many problems with it . Give it a go , get your dainty hands dirty and you might enjoy it ![]() |

Ok. In discussion with dad, we've decided not to try it, just in case we damage something. ![]() Have booked in with my mech for Tuesday. ![]() ![]() |
