Post subject: | Fitment of KAD Quickshift to Remote Box |
Guys, can anyone here give me a rundown on the method of fitting one??? I tried to fit one to Slidey (MK1 remote box) this morning, following the instructions, yet when i completed to job this is what i found...... 1. I couldn't get the black bush to fit all the way into the locating hole at the bottom 2. When i tried to select gears, i found that i could only select 2nd, 4th and reverse. Upon trying to select 1st and 3rd it seemed that the gearstick was butting up against something or was at the end of it's throw, yet i was still in neutral. I am i missing something in the original box? or have i not fitted correctly............ Any ideas or solutions???????? I am kind of lost. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I've got none left- Aaron got my last one...! As I said in the other thread, They are a 3/8" (OD) x 3" long BLUE die spring, cut in half with an angle grinder & the end ground flat. Finished length is 1-1/2" (38mm). So, you get 2 out of a standard spring. ![]() These springs are sold by Automatic Springs (John While) in Sydney. Any toolroom would have them or could get. ![]() |

This spring is only used on remote or 850 boxes, 3 & 4 synchro, but not rod change. It goes below the reverse switch (or hex plug) on the front of the box. (Below oil filter). Not something that normally gets taken out when box is stripped so I doubt it's rolling around on the floor! ![]() |
