I remember back in either the late 80's or very early 90's there was a TV ad for Duckhams Oil that featured a Mini.

If I remember correctly..... it started out with some loud, heavy music playing on a radio in a garage. There is a butler walking through the garage with a silver tray and a crystal decanter, with what you assume is whiskey inside. I think he walks past a few Rollers or Jags.

He reaches a young guy who has his head under the bonnet of a either black or dark green Cooper S. The butler says "Your oil sir...." and offers the decanter to the young guy, who takes it and whips off the crystal stopper in the top of it. The butler catches this, and the young guy proceeds to pour the oil into the donk.

The ad ends with a hand peeling off the 'Duckhams' label from the oil bottle, and sticking it in the engine bay.

I remember this ad really well. The Mini in it was really immaculate.

Around the time this ad was on TV, I owned a GTR Torana and I did the same thing with a Duckhams oil label. I owned that car in 1992.


Anyone remember this ad. Anyone know where we could get a copy of it to watch again? I have searched YouTube with no luck.

I remember the ad now you mention it but haven't seen it on anything (youtube/googlevideo etc) , I'll have a better dig now .

I've seen the ad at one of the MOCQ monthly meetings in the past 12 months. Can't remember who had the DVD that also had a pile of other mini related stuff on but could probably find out.
