The best thing to do to old Vinyl is replace it with new stuff that looks the same. It is bound to last longer stuff made these days. |

If you're talking about the original 850 trim vynil try the megulars vynil treatment/conditioner stuff (can't think of it's proper name but Steve E put me onto it and it works wonders for seoftening it up) from a good auto place . |

I have been told by a trimmer that old vinyl that has been 'sun burnt' will never be soft again. If your vinyl has had a bit too much sun..... you can't do anything really except replace it. |

thanks guys. i have just been collecting a whole bunch of 850 vinyl for my restoration. i have had great luck trying to get enough together to trim my car. all i want to do is soften it up a bit. it is far from hard and cracking but i figure it could be a little bit softer if possible. all the useable stuff i have is still nice and rich in colour. |
