Mine are stuffed and after a quick rebuild of second hand ones this arvo I'm wondering what are the best ones for a daily driver?
Also what should I expect to pay? ringing around this arvo I was quoted $65-$70-$90-$100 per side
They are ball bearing ones at the moment but is it worth going to roller bearings and whats the difference?

put tapered or roller bearings in, they'll last a lot longer.. $60-$70 a side probably if you did it yourself.

They will cross fit in a second. Cooper S, GT and Clubman S used them.

Probably no difference in a non-motorsport application really. They can be had for much cheaper than that as a kit if you ring around the usual mini specialist traps

I've never found the need for tapered rollers on the rear, the stocko ball bearings work fine- with 10x5 wheels anyway. I've done 75,000 miles on the current set, and this includes a bit of track work.
may be a good idea with 13" wheels though.

The fronts though are a different case, I always use Timken tapered rollers there. They last, the ball bearings cark it with spirited use.

BTW Mick I've never seen rear tapered rollers on a Clubby S, and we've owned a few.
