im in the process of putting my rear radius arms back together, and i have bought some new grease. how important is it for me to flush out the old grease so that i can pump the new grease into the pivot bearing?

can i just clean the outside of the shaft? then pump new grease through the nipple after putting it all back together? or do i have to get the old grease out of the INSIDE of the shaft too?

if it is the same type of grease should be no biggy
the important thing is to get it to ooze out
