 Post subject: SU Needles for 1380

Any ideas on needles for the following ?? .....motor is Mk1 Cooper S out to 1380 , has twin inch and a quarter SU's , fairly standard head and Wade 446b cam

that'll be a tough one... not many people with a 1380 would be running twin 1 1/4"s, so you won't find a lot of precidents... Mr Vizard only has recommendations for 1275's in the big yellow bible. The hottest he recommends is an AF

I once pulled all of the needle figures out of the DOS based needle selection program and put them in an access database. Having a look at it, and looking for needles richer than the AF, there were 78 of them :roll:

Along the lines of what skssgn has said, there's a pretty cool spreadsheet out there set up to do comparisons etc (as opposed to recommendations like winsu). Search for "susearch"....should be out there some place. If not let me know and I'll dig it out.
