does anyone have specs for camshaft grinds to suit a healthy 1293 (say maybe an "R.E. 15" spec for example, etc, etc as would like to compare a few prior to getting mine done.) ![]() |

By "healthy" you mean big jugs & valves, worked over head? I've always been a fan of the factory grinds, AEG510 (std S cam), AEG731 but no doubt times have moved on............. ![]() |

We have a Wade 104 (or Tighe 104, same thing) in Barney with 1.46 rockers. It's a good roady cam but doesn't have the midrange of an RE13. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() gunna see how it goes with the steel rocker gear(1.3's), then maybe try the toyota rockers later once it has a few miles under its belt (so to speak). To use vernier timing gears, or use cooper s timing gears that is the question?? hmmmmm......what to do, what to do........i know the bloke who grinds these cams is normally very spot on (when used with std double row timing gears) but they have been much milder grind cams and we have never had a problem with them. Might stick to the cooper s timing gears i think. |

I'd use Cooper S duplex sprockets if not worn, and an Iwis (german made) chain, they are the best. ($60 or so). I use offset cam keys to get them spot on, never had a problem. If the sprockets are worn, I'd go buy a Rollmaster kit, they include the Iwis chain and vernier keyways for $150 approx. |

Assemble with a standard key, then see how far out it is. Ask Wade what it should be timed at with a chain. ![]() When finished, Loctite the nut with some 262, and tighten to 75 lb/ft. Will never come loose. ![]() |
