To get your mini blastered looking around $600-$800

Then there is the rust repairs, and no your mini will not be rust free i dont care what year it is. This could be as cheap as 2-3 days work $1000, anywhere up to 2-3 weeks work $3000-$4000

Then paint will be minimum $2500 for paint/primer to be supplied and done in a booth.

yeah i was going to ask about rust.. but its a bit of a hard question to ask.. due to varying levels of rust.. so i left it out but thats for that :)

yeah im looking to get mine blasted, deadened, and painted inside and out... in black.. im hoping $8000-9000 will be enough for a good paintjob...

That's a big budget.

Are you after a show finish?

I painted my car for much under a grand. But then again, I did all the body prep work, and my dad and I painted it together. Which means you need a compressor, paint gun...yadda yadda yadda.

As I recall Cookie720 (I think that's his ausmini name) got his done (iIn Adelaide) for under 2 grand, and looks really good.

$4000 - $6000 would usually be around the mark for a bare metal respray, but you can pay whatever you want really...

well yes i was looking to get close to a show class finish.. which is why i was budgeting for that ammount and would expect close to it

and that $8000-9000 was for paint, blasting and rust work.. not just the paint job...

Fair enough. And yes I understand that was for the lot. You could go cheaper if you did the prep work but I also understand that you may not have the time, or place to do it.

I jsut wonder if spending the value of the car on top of it, for paint was worth it? As long as you feel that it's worth it, that's all that matters. :)

Yep we did all the rust repairs, cutting out front floor bits and boot bits, replacing apanels all at home, so cost nothing, paint prep all ourselves, and paint cost like 200 for 4L acrylic and actual painting cost $850, which included last minute prep, (sanding if nessesary) and a last buff finish a couple months later

it is far from show though

any good recommendations for a good blaster and/or painter in Sydney??

also wat types of blasting are there and whats the difference between. i was told by domeone that there's a "sodabBlasting" which is VERY fine and something to do with walnut shells (i wasn't really paying attention  )

sounds like your going allout nick, good on you. i would think, that you could add 1k or so to the normal price of a good paint job to do it in black, as it shows every single imperfection. what did harna's job cost? 8k? id allow that.

good on ya
