hey guys went to sprints this arvo and got myself a high flow waterpump AND a fan belt all for $41. 25% off people. dont u just love after christmas sales ![]() anyway, the dilema i have is that he showed me my old fan belt and the new one i was supplied and the new one is about 20mm longer. will this do? what are the general rules with fanbelt lengths? is it strict? any ideas? |

mate should be ok provided you have enough room on the alternator/generator bracket to adjust for it and provide enough tension. Good luck. G. |

Usual length with alternator is 825, with generator 815, Mk1 S (with generator) 850. These are the numbers on the belts. ![]() |

S had a bigger generator pulley, so it didn't shred itself to bits when you gave it a big rev. Was a good idea back then. My bro's Imp used to chew generators up & spit 'em out too (he used to rev it a bit..) so we stuck an Alfa alternator in it. ![]() |
