Hi, does anyone know the difference between the Bosch WR7DC and the bosch W7DC.

I have had the W7DC in the mini but not the WR7DC are they a higher perforance plug?

Cheers

Probably just a different heat range between the 2 plugs at a guess.

I think one superceded the other and that they are interchangeable. I think the R has something to do with resistance?

They are the same heat range (equivalent to BP6ES NGK)

The R is usually for a resistor type plug

W=14mm
R=resistor type-runs with suppression resistor
7=heat range, hotter
D=thread length
C=copper anode, single

I'd run the Rs if you have copper wire leads, but in all other cases stick with the standard type if you can get em.
Resistor plugs are designed to eliminate interference to onboard electronics in modern cars. But they have far better ignition systems than we do.

I had trouble recently with plugs in my (1977) Evinrude outboard- I fitted 3 new QL77JC4 resistor plugs (boat shop says are the current recommendation) and it wouldn't even get on the plane!. :x I refitted the old standard type L77JC4 ones, and away we went.... 8)
