hey i noticed on ebay,

what serial no do u need for the 45DCOE ## to fit the mini?

im after one at the moment, and dont know what im looking for!!!

(anyone got one cheap on here for the mini?)

Hi Lobby I think your just around the corner from me also...

The Weber 45 your looking at is the correct one but not the manifold (of course) you can by a new Manifold for around $130 from Hadfords..sorry dont have thier number....
What size engine are you wishing to put it onto

Note- the 3005 will fit (with a Ramflo filter) without hacking the body, but the longer 3047 won't.

Hey Gaf and Doc, I am FINALLY going to get around to putting the weber on Mo now we are into the new year and will be buying a second bonnet that I can cut into to fit that air filter (now that I dont mind Mo not looking original).

Forgive my ignorance, but is it a matter of removing the existing manifold and carbie (naturally labelling everything etc) and then replacing it with the new manifold and weber, and then having it tuned? There was talk about needles and floats etc before when I was showing it to you both. Should I be making sure that is all there good and proper before pulling Mo apart? Is there anywhere you can suggest for information?

Last thing I need is Mo off the road for another 3 months from my playing around... :roll:

You need to jet the Weber before you fit it.
Webers don't have needles- that's an SU phenomenon. :lol:
PM me the motor & carb details and I can advise you a bit, but really I'm a Dellorto man, not Weber. :P
Greg Maleure (Mini Classic) is the man for Webers around here (W Sydney). 8)

hey,

i will be fitting it to an 1100 with extarctors and that is about it,

i had a fellow who lives in hornsby today drop of my mini wheels that i just bought off ebay,

he came round in a 1310 clubby panelvan with a weber 42dcoe8,

(it was a BRG clubby van with 10" minilights, and gold flares, oh and a ladder on the roof!)

he informed me that a 45 would be 2 big for the 1100, he saud maybe a 42 like he had would be more to suit!

hey makka, might be interested in the 40, if it is the right price,


( he took me for a ride, my first ride in a 1310.......AWSOME!!! )

he said for me 2 stick 2 twin 1 1/4 or 1 2/4

what do u guys recomend?

use a 45 weber but choke it right down to increase air speed...
maybe 34ml chokes and 3.5 to 4 aux.
otherwise changing chokes in a 40 or 42 gets ridiculous on price.
everyone has bits for 45's

34 chokes are OK, 998Delux is running 34 chokes in a 45 Dellorto on a 1098, the head is still bloody stocko! :shock: It's got a 3-1 zorst...
Yeh it goes OK, but needs some head work and a cam to make it fly.. :P

<edit> If the 40 Weber is off an Alfa, it probably has 32 or 33 chokes- OK for a 1098.

OK there are the pics of the weber. The two chambers have 23 and 24 circled. Only other distinguishing features is code 32 DIR 21 (on right side if facing holes to manifold) and 2305 and 5B on the other side. Made in Bologna in Italy by Brevettato.

Air filter is not standard, but the bling bling factor is there when all on.

Any help, or advice is appreciated. It will be going on a 998 stock with extractors to straight through exhaust. Currently running a single SU with ram flow air filter.

Is Greg Maleure of Mini Classic the best person to go in and talk to?

That's a downdraft progressive Weber, not a proper sidedraft one. Ignore what I said previously.... :cry:
They were popular at one time, but don't really go any better than a pair of SUs. If you find a Fiat tuner they could help. No don't ask, I've forgotten how to, now.. :lol:
