i have a 1275 cam with 176.0 stamped on the end of it, does anyone know the specs of it.

The only 176 I know of is a Wade Cams 176...

i am building a failry quick 1275, but i am not sure if this two much for a fast road/race car, i only have a 40dcoe webber as well not sure if thats as good as comp twin carbs,
also could the cam be reground to a milder spec if need be

That sounds like a fairly agressive cam. About 300° duration if I calculated correctly. It might be a bit much for the road, given that the RE13 has 276° (i think) duration and some people don't like it for the road.

Having said that, different people prefer different cams and it depends on how much you are prepared to put up with and how much city driving you are planning on doing. It also depends a bit on the setup of the rest of the engine. I would guess that most people would find this a bit too agressive for a street car though.

I think a Weber would be good enough in terms of carburetion. It has 2 barrels, so it is kinda like 2 carbies in one anyway

If you decide not to use this profile, I think you would be better off getting a stock cam reground to the profile you want and selling this one

That`s pretty well a race cam & i`m pretty sure the "O" on the 1760 means it is an "Offset grind" --> a sort of early example of an attempt to scatter pattern, without actually being a full scatter pattern cam (if you get my drift)

dam good little race cam tho but not something for the road really, you`d want fairly hi compression ratios to get the full potential out of it. Soooo to run it on the road with low enough compression ratio for pump fuel & so it doesn`t ping etc will make it a rough lumpy doh-y pig down low & it also won`t deliver it`s full potential power up top because of the low compression

thats the same cam grind as im gunna be putting in my new engine!!
should be nice and mild mannered till about 3500rpmish and then go right off after that up to 6,500- 7000rpm!! you will need double valve springs to cope.....also depends what head you are using, whats been done to it and what you are doing with/or have done to the block to see if it is worth while using it or getting a slightly milder grind. have fun!!
