Hi I am looking at a Mk2 1969 cooper s but cant find any id plates. Where should I look for plates or numbers. Im sure there is a heap of knowlage out there to help a new Cooper buyer.

69's can be strange. For the majority of the year they were without plates at all. Neither body ID or compliance plates.

If there is no plate rivetted to the vertical traingular gusset behind the brake booster AND it is made up to about August 69(Month??) then it might be the case that it never had one. There was a change over period where Morris just didn't bother with anything except the stamps.

You will need to refer to the stampings in the gutter at the rear of the engine bay, and to the stamping on the radiator cowl. They will be 500(ish)apart from one another however, this is normal.
