i would assume 13's would be heavier and need more power to move them up hills. 10's all the way. but i am biased, id put 10's on any mini no matter what

easy one... stick with 10's... unless you've got sports pack arches to fill :)

13's are better imo, yer they are bigger but you can change the diff for that, comparing driving either of my car one has 10s the other has 13;s the 13s handle better, they grip better, less wheelspin, tyres are easier to get can run bigger brakes, the only problem with them is wearing out the bearings, being a race car you change them anyway.. but thats my opinion.. dont listen if you dont want to

10's I reckon. Rather than rely on my somewhat biased opinon (I don't think you need bigger brakes, if thats the case then you don't need bigger rims) ask Chris Adlam (one of the fastest Mini's in Aust) why he runs 10s rather than 13's.

while lower profile tyres are far superior for performance,

i think the most important thing on a hillclimb car would be weight and tyre choice, in which case 10" with some super sticky semislicks is the way to go no doubt.

13's just weigh too much, and dont offer a good selection of tyres in the right size.

10s.

The last thing your going to want in hillclimbing (as you mentioned in the other thread) is big wheels. Mostly because you don't want bigger tyres. Secondly, generally speaking they are going to be heavier.

Are you from SA?

I've done a few runs at Collingrove hillclimb in my Mini and grip is important for the first turn and the take off, but you can get really good (and affordable) tyres for 10s anyways. But I imagine most hillclimbs would be similiar.

I have Dunlop D93J Formula Rs (175 60 R10) on Minator wheels from Minisport here in SA. Cost $695 for the 4 wheels, nuts and caps and $125 a tyre for the Formula R's.

thaks for the information provided guys, i think i might stick to the 10 inch wheels that i've got on the car at the moment, also can anyone tell me where the best place would be to get tyres for them.
Oh, by the way i'm from Victoria

Cheers
Sav
