This is mainly a thankyou thread. Thanks to the organisers of the event. Chris put in a superb effort for weeks and weeks leading up to the event and proof of this was a night that was enjoyed by all. A big thankyou also to everyone who came, namely Marlene and Peter. You both made me feel very welcome. Greig, a fantastic bloke and even in a bit of a rush to finish his Nb car off, didn't mind too much to spare some dyno time for my Mini. And to Anke, what a delightful lady who loved a chat. Graham Russell... a master. Puts up with my "stressing" for as long as I dish it out, and assures me that everything is fine. Without Graham's help and assistance in all aspects I wouldn't have been able to make it to the drags. Thanks to the weather also. Coming up to Eastern Creek i was adamant that the night would be cancelled, but it came good and the night was fantastic. I ran a 14.8 second pass at 145km/hr. I feel that the time wasn't great, and there is definitely massive room for improvement. The engine power was there. It was definitely there. Tyre grip wasn't though. Wheelspin through first and all the way through second was getting frustrating coming up to the final run, and trying different launching and changes gained me a full second from the start of the night. In summary, I had a ripper of a night. It's amazing that there is such great turnout and support in the Mini scene in NSW. Here's to being a member of quite possibly the best club in Australia - MCCNSW. They really keep the Mini spirit alive and give something for me to do during my week off work. I'm off to have a bundy |
