Has anyone ever put together a guide or cross-reference for the many Mini screws, washers, bolts and nuts that need replacement due to rusting, breakage, head damage, etc. that would assist those doing a restoration? I'm aware that some components are a custom specification for the Mini or high tensile but many are standard plated or stainless steel that could be purchased from a fastener supplier if the standard industry description of the item were known.
For example, on 69/70 models the phillips head screws that retain the door/window winder handles and the door locks, the screws and cup washers securing the door lining, etc.

I hope Gafmo doesn't mind but I sent a copy of that list with the Doc's additions to a guy that sells packs of 150 nuts and bolts on eBay and bills them as for MG, Minis etc. Only problem was there were not all the sizes and quantities needed. I asked him to consider putting together a "Mini engine pack" - he said he would look into it.

I've seen those packs of nuts bolts on eBay.
I know I'm looking for the impossible but having a cross-reference between the actual part number in the Mini Factory Catalogue and the equivalent, commercially-available product description would enable us to buy the right part in small quantities at reasonable prices. I stumbled on a website in the UK that sells such stainless steel fasteners but I don't know which, if any of their products is the right part for a Mini. Even Bunnings has stainless steel self-tappers that suit some Mini needs.

It's really the engineering drawings for the car that would state this information, but fat chance of finding any of those.

He sells the pack for $25 but not all are useful - we wait and see what he comes up with

Do you have any links or references to the UK outlets?
