Check the earth on your brake lights.

As for the ticking noise, can't really help you there.

Tickin noise could simply be the fan clipping the shroud.

That's good advice. I had problems with my indicators not working on one side with the lights or brakes on, turned out they were earthing through the brake light. I chased it for years, never twigged to the earth until recently.

yeah definitely sounds like and earthing fault.

ticking noise could be a lot of things can you explain the noise and narrow the spot down. one guess might be the alternator, as if they are ticking its time to replace the bushes or the regulator (just check the tension in the belt first to make sure that it is doing its job). could be anything though without narrowing it down - anything from valve clearances to drivetrain noise

Grab hold of the radiator and push it backward and forwards while the engine is running, it should be rubber mounted. If it is the fan clipping the shroud the noise should change, get either louder or go away.

Another good way to investigate noises like that is to get a large screwdriver and put the big end against your ear then touch the small end on any suspect part (not moving parts of course). The noise will be amplified, it's a cheap stethoscope.

Touch it on the rocker cover and you will hear all the tappets and will know if the noise is coming from there. Water pump is another to investigate. Alternator. If you have a really long screwdriver you can get it down to the timing cover.
